Karnataka TET Exam pattren and eligibility criteria


The Department of School Education, Government of Karnataka released notification to conduct Teacher Eligibility Test commonly known as KAR TET 2020. Interested candidates must fulfill the basic eligibility conditions to appear in this exam. Those who qualify the test will be awarded ‘Certificate of Eligibility’. Selected candidates are eligible for the post of teachers in Govt. / Govt. aided schools of Karnataka state. Two papers will be conducted where Paper-1 for selection of candidates as primary teachers and Paper-2 for selection of candidates as upper primary teachers. Candidates can apply for either one or both papers as per their interest and eligibility. Karnataka TET Exam pattern and eligibility criteria for Paper 1 , Paper 2 & Both paper 1 & 2.

Karnataka TET Exam eligibility For paper 1 


  • PUC/ Senior Secondary with not less than 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR
  • PUC/ Senior Secondary with not less than 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
  • Senior Secondary with not less than 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR
  • BA/ B.Sc Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.


Karnataka TET Exam eligibility For paper 2


  • PUC/ Senior Secondary with not less than 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
  • PUC/ Senior Secondary with not less than 50% marks and 4-year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed OR
  • BA/ B.Sc Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR
  • BA/ B.Sc Graduation with not less than 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) OR
  • BA/ B.Sc Graduation with not less than 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed (Special Education)

  • PUC/ Senior Secondary with not less than 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
  • BA/ B.Sc Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
